Kickin’ into a chill gear
Walking into Kico Bengaluru is meant to be a laidback affair—think, a homey lounge where the vibe is just right while the food, drinks and good times just keep on coming. From the beginning, the aim was to craft an urban coffee plus cocktail bar with a welcoming, living room vibe. Sumessh Menon Associates, however, made sure even a casual, chill spot has just enough kick to keep you wanting and discovering more each time.
Home away from home
Gradient-toned earthy bricks, matte black trellis, and soft sheer curtains wrap the indoor dining space, while the outdoor enclosure blends the vibrant city sky into the space as a larger-than-life canvas. Both settings are perfectly complemented with a dining setup composed of marble-top tables and wooden chairs. If the indoors presents itself as a contemporary living room, the outdoors is the ultimate balcony to linger and relax.
Infused with urban charisma
It is the Kico bar that truly sets the space aglow. One cannot miss how light from the leather-encased Ledomatics chandeliers interacts with the charcoal black grid ceiling. The illumination sparkles over the tiered and mirrored display wall as well as on the live-edge wood bar countertop in all its ‘vein’ glory. The graffiti-styled collage by ZA Works brings in a sporty, urban charisma; and finally the bar front composed of concrete-finished, hollowed bricks and vertical wooden battens complement the whole ensemble.
Come as you are
Kico Bengaluru, while designed with utmost thought and craftsmanship, ultimately extends a laissez-faire invitation to all. It exceptionally fulfills the design brief for “a modern living room where mornings begin with coffee, evenings unfold over cocktails”.
