Area : 2450 sq. ft.
As per the brief give by the client, we conceptualized the space as a swanky bar and dining space with grand lighting, new-age materials and plush finishes.
Best restaurant & bar designers for high end restaurants in Pune
Be it the 16 feet tall glass façade modified to incorporate a series of textured glass fins with a customized print or the striking parametric 3D wall that spans one entire side of the restaurants double-height space like an art collage by blending 2-3 materials together or the larger-than-life light installation wall that stands as a dramatic backdrop to the one-of-a-kind trapezoidal island bar that is touted to be one of the most stunning bars in Pune city, there is pure design ingenuity in every meticulously crafted corner of the restaurant.
The interior space is divided between a double-height space that includes the centrally located main bar and dining area and a low height cozy VIP seating area that has been scooped out beneath a mezzanine wall. The exotic stone finished floor space is shelved into three raised levels which add that extra dash of character to the entire space. As a distinctive Menon feature – the central bar that’s been coiled around an existing column is quite a stunning display of backlit glass bar apron with a visually striking abstract design print and polished marble countertop. Even the central column is embellished in silver striations with a bar display suspended on it.
Trendy and offbeat is the design mantra for this space and nothing can take away the focus from the pièce de résistance of the whole space which is the wavy suspended mesh light installation. It was quite an experience working with mesh woven with two different metals in a parametric design that lends a whole new dimension to the space. A large custom woven mesh envelops two of the columns that are further backlit. We have endeavoured to incorporate lighting design as part of the interior design element rather than a functional service. Thus we have columns as light features and an entire double-height wall that displays vertical shoots of Acrylic light installations and of course the elegant wavy mesh lights that cascade down upto 3 feet. A half-height mezzanine wall is adorned in a 2D parametric design with curves flowing across it that reflects the curvilinear element of the ceiling mesh. Starkly contrasting the other polished finishes, the VIP area displays a backlit raw finished terracotta brick screen wall contrasting even with its low height ceiling that has been clad entirely in the tinted mirror. Furniture is entirely upholstered in plush velvety fabrics that exude the right amount of oomph.
Assured of its blended use of new-age materials with swanky design elements interpreted perfectly, MasalaBar is certainly an ambience that will evoke awe and appreciation.
